The Discipline of Looking Sharp (Even when you don't feel like it)

We as strong men are supposed to be full of knowledge and wisdom. The ‘Rock’ of the family, not some meek and mild boy who has never found himself. Going over seas really wakes you up, opens your eyes and gives you more wisdom. You see different ways of doing things and whats right in your country may not be right in another. It is a huge reality check..!

You realise how small your world is

We as human beings love our comfort zone, we do the same things over and over again, never really experiencing anything new. We see the same people, go to the same places and do the same things. We never really leave our bubble.

You get forced to adapt

No doubt if you’ve never left your home country, when you do it will be a huge shock. You may even have a funny look on your face, like a deer in headlights type of vibe. No body speaks your language, no body understands you, everyone may even treat you abit like an alien, like the ones in the movies…  You my friend have gone outside the wire. Into foreign lands, away from your comfort zone 🖌️

You build real confidence

Here you are, in the ‘jungle’ so to speak, alone with nothing but your self assurance. No more faking, no more running and hiding. No more gym mirror confidence.. You build real confidence, the kind that comes from:

Talking to strangers

Interacting with locals from a foreign country can be quite the challenge, not only this you may have foreigners from other countries. This is your moment to shine.. Have you developed your people skills over the years, do you know how to talk to people and put a smile on their face.

Navigating unknown places

Reading funny shaped signs and maps and trying to put the pieces together is always a daunting task. It may seem easy but time and time again people crack. As soon as the going gets a little tough, these ‘awesome’ people usually fold. So calming the internal 🖌️ and doing your research usually go hand in hand..

Talking loud & clear

Living the bubble of your home country can sometimes send your voice down the drain. You realise how much of an accent you have developed, even when you talk English with foreigners they find it hard to understand you because you’ve never had that kind of pressure before.

Handling problems on your own

There’s nothing like the feeling of solving problems in another country. Your back is really against the wall, it really is make or break, the moment when the weak and the strong are separated.. So being good with people can really come in handy, dealing with strangers and getting some local tips and tricks is usually the way..

You stop caring what others think about you

After seeing how others live around the world, you realise theres more to life than shiny objects and fancy furniture. You realise the beauty is in living a good life free from expectations, not always trying to fit in or keep up with the Kardashians. Because i guarantee you the old dude selling pineapples and mangos at the fruit stall in Bali does not care about how much designer clothes you have. No body does..

Recommended Countries to Start Your Journey

Not all travel hits the same. Some places wake you up fast, others slowly expand your perspective. If you’ve never left your country before, these are solid starting points:

🇹🇭 Thailand – The Wake-Up Call

Thailand is one of the best places to experience your first real culture shock, in a good way!

It’s cheap, chaotic, beautiful, and humbling all at the same time..

You’ll deal with language barriers, different customs and a completely different pace of life. Whether you’re training, exploring, or just trying to order food, you will be forced to adapt.

This is where a lot of men realise.. the world doesn’t revolve around them.

🇫🇷 France – The Perspective Shift

France (especially places like Paris or the countryside) shows you a completely different way of living.

People value time, food, conversation, and lifestyle over constant hustle. It challenges the “work non-stop” mindset a lot of us grow up with.

You start to question what actually matters.

🇲🇦 Morocco – The Chaos & Growth

Morocco throws you straight into the deep end.

Busy markets, different languages & intense environments, it can feel overwhelming at first but that’s exactly the point..!

You learn awareness, confidence, and how to handle yourself in unfamiliar situations 💥

🇯🇵 Japan – The Discipline Level

Japan is on another level when it comes to discipline, respect, and structure.

Everything runs clean, on time and with purpose. It makes you reflect on your own habits, like how you carry yourself, how you treat others, how you move through life!

It’s confronting in a different way… quieter, but more powerful!

Final Thoughts

Obviously you don’t need to go to all of these places but you need to start somewhere! Because once you step outside your comfort zone and into the unknown, you don’t come back the same…

Closing Chapter

Leaving your home country wont make you richer but it will make you smarter and more self assured than everyone else because you have seen the other side of life. The way people who look similar to you act and treat each other. How to greet different walks of life and make them better off for knowing you.
